Annual Dinner 2001

In a highly controversial break with tradition, the fourth CUBB Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony was not held at Sidney Sussex College, but rather in the hallowed surroundings of Peterhouse Upper Hall. This bold move was complemented by excellent food and plenty of wine, and the meal was enjoyed by all. After dinner Tom Price and Paul Davis presented the Annual CUBB Awards in recognition of outstanding “achievements” throughout the preceding year. See below for the full list of awards.

Nobody seems to be able to remember the menu in detail (something to do with the amount of wine perhaps…), but here's an approximation to it:

  • Smoked trout with wholemeal toast
  • Beef steak with potatoes and seasonal vegetables
  • Something Chocolaty
  • Coffee & mints
  • Port & wine

The following were honoured by the assembled company for their various achievements: (For a full list of nominations and explanations click here.)
